Gardens

We are in a different season right now. Some things are going to grow and develop until we can return to life in a more normal sense, other things are growing and will be ready to be harvested in our lives to be shared well before then.

Good Morning!
I have so much fun tending my little garden. Over and over again the Holy Spirit reminds me of Scripture and helps me to examine my heart or encourages me while I garden.

I’ve only planted potatoes one time, and wasn’t very successful. Thanks to some research, and Evan I did some things differently. I dug around my biggest plant yesterday and the red potatoes are close to being ready!

The Super 100’s are now starting to flower, so soonish, I’ll start having tomatoes, but these plants still have a long way to go before they are full sized and really producing.

The English peas and carrots (especially) seem to have a while longer before they will be ready.

It’s really fun to explain to the twins how the vegetables will grow, and how we know when they are ready to be harvested.

Galatians 6:9-10, comes to mind.
9 And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up. 10 So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith.

We are in a different season right now. Some things are going to grow and develop until we can return to life in a more normal sense, other things are growing and will be ready to be harvested in our lives to be shared well before then.

I encourage you to take good time to focus on the garden of your heart and how Jesus is trying to tend it. What is God trying to grow to maturity in you? How can that “fruit” then be given to the world around you?

Let me pray for us:
God, thank you for tending the garden of our hearts. Thank you for the ways you have grown our faith, and our person so we can walk with you and share your light, love, and peace with others. Help us to bear fruit and feely give it to those around us.
Again, we lift up our health care workers, and our leaders as they help us navigate this pandemic. In Jesus Name, Amen.

On a quick side note. If you didn’t see the huge world-wide concert last night, google it. I didn’t know it was happening, but have gone back and watched Andrea Bocelli, Lady Gaga, Celine Dion and John Legend singing The Prayer… If you watch nothing else, watch that. Wow. Powerful.

Grace and Peace
