Sermon Previews
New Life
This is precisely how the Good news is shared. From one unworthy servant to another. Your story of salvation, of death and resurrection, of new life, matters. You are called, just like the disciples to share the good news of Jesus Christ to the world.
Death
Right now, if you’re feeling like you’re in a death moment, you are not alone. A lot of other people are in very similar situations. More importantly, you’re not alone, because Jesus has been there, and is right here with you now.
Living as a Servant
For us as we enter Holy week and get ready for Easter, Jesus dying on the cross for our sins, that Jesus came to give his life for us and to serve us. What does that mean for us today? Are we giving our lives for one another? Are we here to serve one another or are we demanding to be served?
For me, I love this idea of servant leadership. That the way to lead is by serving others. To serve the least and lost around you. Are you paying attention to them, lifting them up, trying to help them be a part of the Kingdom of God?
Palm Sunday
As we celebrate Palm Sunday, quarantined at home, how can you take the role of the servant, and pay attention to the least and lost around you. Maybe it’s to the people in your house. Maybe it’s like the girls drawing pictures to mail to the nursing homes. How can you take time to love God, Love others, and love yourself?
The Time of the Cocoon
We can think about this as a Chrysalis phase. We were caterpillars, now we’ve all got hulled up in our cocoons. Depending on the work we do, we have to opportunity to emerge as beautiful butterflies. Take this time and look to the eternal investments you can make, both in yourself and in other people.
The Gospel According to You
we cannot underestimate the value of the way we share the Gospel by the way we live… whether faithless or true, the gospel according to you. What does your life proclaim about the Good News of Jesus Christ? Do people see the truth and love of Jesus in your life? Hope? Peace? Joy? Grace?
