Trusting and Dreaming

A ton of good came out of an incredibly difficult situation. Most of the new testament is written by Paul in the form of letters to churches and people. Many of those letters come while Paul is quarantined. Maybe it was called prison, but still. This is giving us a bunch of time to do something different. What are you doing with your time?

A quick note on devotional reading. My favorite, and normal practice is to read a whole book. I may read a couple chapters or more each day. Reading this way helps me read in context. This morning I started reading 2 Corinthians.

2 Corinthians 2:8-9 Paul says, “For we were so utterly burdened beyond our strength that we despaired of life itself. Indeed, we felt that we had received the sentence of death. But that was to make us rely not on ourselves but on God who raises the dead. He delivered us from such deadly peril and will deliver us.”

Here’s 3 quick thoughts. 1st This happened so that they learned not to rely on themselves but on God. We can do everything possible, but we must rely on God.

3rd God delivered them. God will deliver us from this. We will get back together again. It will be tough, but God will bring us through.
